**MUNICH** — The top-seeded Alexander Zverev is on the brink of making history by vying for his third ATP Munich title after a stellar performance in the semifinals on Saturday.

With the roaring support of the home crowd behind him, the German star is set to clash with second-seeded Ben Shelton in the final showdown at the BMW Open this Sunday.

Zverev showcased his dominance, losing his serve only once during his match against Hungary’s Fabian Marozsan, winning with a score of 7-6 (3), 6-3. Marozsan struggled with 28 unforced errors, paving the way for Zverev’s victory.

On the other hand, Shelton fought hard to overcome fifth-seeded Francisco Cerundolo, coming back from a set down and a break in the final set to win 2-6, 7-6 (7), 6-4. The young talent also faced defeat at two crucial points during the tiebreak but managed to keep his composure.

This marks Shelton’s fourth career final and his second opportunity to compete on clay after his victory in Houston last year.
