The WTA proudly heralded an exceptional 2024, marked by significant growth in its global viewership.

The inaugural WTA Finals held in Saudi Arabia also contributed to this remarkable achievement.

The event drew the largest audience ever recorded for a year-end finals in WTA history, totaling 78 million viewers—an astonishing 160% increase from the previous year’s attendance.

In a recent communication, the WTA highlighted increased Chinese engagement as a key driver behind the impressive overall figures. The organization announced a significant expansion into the Chinese market for the upcoming 2025 season, following a new partnership with WTA Ventures and Tencent. This collaboration guarantees that Tencent’s digital platforms will provide extensive coverage of all tournaments on the Hologic WTA Tour, culminating in the WTA Finals Riyadh presented by PIF in November, with the exception of events hosted in mainland China.

Currently, there are five talented Chinese singles players ranked in the Top 100 of the WTA standings, led by the Olympic gold medalist, Zheng Qinwen.

The WTA reports that two-thirds of its global audience is under the age of 45, and on-site attendance at WTA events has risen by 15%, totaling 3.5 million enthusiastic fans.
