BASEL, Switzerland — In an exhilarating final at the Swiss Indoors, Valentin Vacherot secured his second career title by defeating Jiri Lehecka with a scoreline of 2-6, 6-3, 6-3 on Sunday.
The unseeded Vacherot, who previously triumphed at the Shanghai Masters last year after coming through qualifying rounds, has once again proven his mettle on the court.
He clinched the championship when Lehecka’s two-handed backhand veered just wide. The eighth-seeded Czech had been in search of his first title of the year.
With joy evident on his face, Vacherot waved his racket to the cheering crowd in Basel, reveling in the moment of victory.
