Stefanos Tsitsipas and Fabian Marozsan paused their Tuesday encounter in Munich as darkness fell.
Reported by ATP Staff
Stefanos Tsitsipas and Fabian Marozsan are in for an anxious night as their initial round match at the BMW Open by Bitpanda in Munich was put on hold due to fading light.
Tsitsipas began strong, claiming the first set 6-3, but Marozsan rallied to snatch the second set in a nail-biting tiebreak 7-6(5). With the match tied at 2-2 in the deciding set, play was ultimately suspended.
After triumphing in their only previous clash in Cincinnati last year, Tsitsipas will aim to extend his lead to 2-0 in his Lexus ATP Head2Head contest when they return to the court on Wednesday. The winner will face Denis Shapovalov, who previously defeated Tallon Griekspoor with a score of 6-4, 3-6, 6-2.
