Madison Keys made headlines earlier this year after switching up her racquet and strings, leading to her first major title. Could Stefanos Tsitsipas be on the brink of a similar achievement?
During a thrilling week in Dubai, the Greek tennis sensation took to the court with a striking new black racquet, diverging from his typical Wilson Blade. This change proved successful as he clinched his first ATP 500 title! Speculation suggests the racquet is a Babolat Aero, though Tsitsipas has yet to verify this rumor.
The moment has arrived.

Although Tsitsipas hasn’t revealed specifics, he confirms that the new racquet is indeed a significant part of his game adjustment. With courts and balls becoming slower over time, he is seeking every possible advantage to enhance his attacking style. Here’s what he shared with the media:
“Introducing comfort into my game is my primary goal. I’ve been seeking a little extra support. As I’ve mentioned before, the changes in balls and court surfaces over recent years mean I need to adapt. That’s just the nature of the game.”
Tsitsipas triumphed over Felix Auger-Aliassime with a score of 6-3, 6-3 in the Dubai final, propelling him back into the Top 10 at No.9 in the upcoming ATP rankings. With a new racquet in hand, the quest to re-enter the Top 5 seems promising.
“Switching racquets felt like an easy decision, particularly when considering how equipment affects performance,” Tsitsipas reflected on his choice to change.
“It would be unwise for me not to explore such a shift… Sometimes, change is essential to prevent stagnation. This new addition feels refreshing and invigorating.”
