“After an exhaustive search, it gives me great pleasure to announce Tracy Davies as the head of our USA Tennis division,” stated Lew Sherr, CEO and Executive Director of USTA. “Her vast experience in high performance and coaching, coupled with her strategic business insight, will enhance our competitive pathway and significantly contribute to the evolution of American tennis at every level.”

Davies will oversee the integration of athlete development, high performance, and competitive pathways, which includes collegiate tennis, all under the USTA umbrella.

The USTA affirmed that Davies will adopt a comprehensive approach to athlete support, focusing on performance enhancement, well-being, and competitive achievement that aligns with the organization’s mission to inspire healthier communities through tennis.

The scope of the role is substantial, and Davies is ready to take on the challenge.

“I am absolutely delighted to take the helm of our USA Tennis Division. With the recent integration of our player development and competition pathways, we have a fantastic opportunity to envision a more holistic view of success for our American athletes,” Davies expressed. “My focus will be to strengthen the organization’s solid foundations while providing enhanced competitive opportunities and expanded support for our high-performance junior, collegiate, and professional athletes.”

“I am eager to embark on this journey and look forward to collaborating closely with our players, their teams, and the broader tennis community to establish a world-class support network for our next generation of champions.”

Prior to her new role, Davies held several pivotal positions at USTA, emphasizing player pathway development. Most recently, she served as the Managing Director of Major Events and Competitive Pathway, where she strengthened connections and integrated national junior competitions, collegiate tennis, and the transitional tour to foster U.S. player development.

Additionally, she managed and provided leadership for the Davis Cup and Billie Jean King Cup teams. Davies played a vital role in architecting the competitive pathway for juniors in the U.S., including unifying the 17 USTA Sections under a singular ranking system and tournament structure, and overseeing major events such as the Orange Bowl International Tennis Championships and the NCAA National Championships at the USTA National Campus.

“When American players excel on the global stage, it inspires countless individuals to pick up a racquet and elevates the profile of our sport,” remarked Brian Vahaly, Chairman of the Board and President of USTA. “This division is crucial to that mission, and under Tracy’s guidance, it will be steered with the strategic focus and operational discipline necessary to maximize our investments.”

“Her dedication to transparency and a player-first philosophy will be essential as we strive to support our future tennis champions.”
