Learner Tien Shines Bright in Metz Debut

The rising star of American tennis, Learner Tien, showcased his talent at the Moselle Open on Monday, defeating local favorite Ugo Blanchet with a score of 6-3, 6-3 to advance to the next round.
At just 19 years old and gearing up for the upcoming Next Gen ATP Finals presented by PIF, Tien has already notched up 28 wins on the tour this year, as per the Infosys ATP Win/Loss Index. His recent journey included a finals appearance in Beijing and a commendable run to the fourth round of the ATP Masters 1000 in Shanghai. Next up, he faces lucky loser Moez Echargui.

In other matches, former Metz champion Lorenzo Sonego progressed by defeating British qualifier Jan Choinski 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, hitting an impressive 11 aces in their first-ever encounter. Sonego is set to clash with fourth seed Flavio Cobolli in the next round, having previously reached the quarter-finals of the Australian Open this year.
Additionally, French qualifier Clement Tabur captured his first-ever tour-level victory by defeating Aleksandar Kovacevic 6-3, 6-2.
