Coco Gauff is embarking on a bold new adventure by leaving her longstanding agency to establish her very own management firm. This move signifies her desire to “take greater ownership” of her tennis career as she evolves not only as an athlete but also as an entrepreneur and a changemaker, she revealed in a heartfelt social media update on Wednesday.
The reigning 2023 U.S. Open singles champion and the 2024 French Open doubles champion announced that her new venture will be named Coco Gauff Enterprises.
“This marks the dawn of an exhilarating new chapter for me, with so much more in store that I can’t wait to unveil in time,” Gauff expressed. “As ever, my focus will remain firmly on tennis!”
The 21-year-old talent, hailing from Florida, currently holds the No. 3 spot in the WTA singles rankings and No. 25 in doubles. Notably, she has previously reached No. 2 in singles and ascended to No. 1 in doubles.
With an impressive total of approximately $23 million in prize earnings and even greater sums from endorsement deals, Gauff’s financial achievements in 2024 alone total $30.4 million, making her the top-earning female athlete, according to reports from Sportico.
This strategic business decision includes forming a partnership with WME, a prestigious agency known for representing various sports icons, including the legendary Serena Williams, while parting ways with Team8, the management firm co-founded by tennis icon Roger Federer and his agent, Tony Godsick.
Coco first captured the spotlight at the tender age of 15 during the 2019 Wimbledon tournament, where she made history as the youngest qualifier and stunned audiences by defeating Venus Williams in the opening round, ultimately reaching the fourth round in her Grand Slam debut.
“From the very moment I picked up a tennis racket, I have felt that my purpose transcends the court,” Gauff emphasized in her Wednesday post, expressing her desire to make a difference “not only in tennis but also in business, philanthropy, and beyond.”
