Denis Shapovalov has catapulted back into the ATP Tour’s elite ranks, marking a remarkable career milestone with his latest tournament victory.

The talented player from Richmond Hill, Ontario, has soared up 22 places to secure the No. 32 spot in the latest rankings, following his impressive triumph over Casper Ruud in the Dallas Open final.

At just 25 years old, Shapovalov displayed his prowess on the court by notching three significant victories over top-10 players — Ruud, Tommy Paul, and Taylor Fritz — culminating in his first ATP 500 title.

Once ranked as high as No. 10 in the world, Shapovalov has been on a commendable recovery journey after seeing his ranking dip to 140 just last summer.

Meanwhile, Felix Auger-Aliassime from Montreal remains Canada’s leading male player, currently holding the No. 22 ranking after winning two ATP 250 events earlier this year, despite suffering a toe injury at Rotterdam last week.

On the women’s side, Leylah Fernandez from Laval, Quebec, stands out as the only Canadian in the top 100, proudly sitting at No. 27 in the WTA rankings.
