Jack Draper will be sidelined for the rest of the tennis season due to an injury to his left arm, which compelled him to withdraw from his second-round match at the US Open.

The talented seventh-ranked player, who reached the semifinals of the US Open last year, has battled this injury throughout the season, ultimately receiving a diagnosis of a bone bruise after his defeat against Marin Cilic in the second round of Wimbledon.

“Accepting this is incredibly challenging for me, especially since I was gaining fantastic momentum and playing some of my best tennis,” Draper shared in a statement on Monday. “However, I’ve faced setbacks before and always return stronger. I am fully driven to realize my potential as a player.”

At just 23, Draper hadn’t participated in singles matches since Wimbledon due to the upper left arm injury, but he managed to secure a win against Federico Agustin Gomez in the opening round of the US Open before withdrawing from the next stage.
