BERLIN — The tennis world is buzzing as Serena Williams announces her return, including an exciting stop in Berlin this month.
Organizers of the Berlin Open have confirmed that Williams will take part in the doubles competition at this prestigious grass-court event kicking off on June 13. The identity of her partner and the schedule for her first match will be revealed soon.
After stepping away from the sport in 2022, the 23-time Grand Slam singles champion has yet to disclose her plans for Wimbledon or the U.S. Open.
Before Berlin, she’s set to make a highly awaited comeback to professional tennis alongside Victoria Mboko at Queen’s Club next week, with Berlin following just a week later. Wimbledon is on the horizon, only two weeks after that.
“Every tournament I add to my schedule right now feels special, and Berlin is no exception,” she expressed. “I’m thrilled to compete in front of the passionate German fans and to keep the momentum going throughout this grass-court season.”
