Joe Salisbury stands just one match away from clinching his third Nitto ATP Finals trophy after teaming up with Neal Skupski to defeat Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool with a score of 6-7(3), 6-3, 10-8.

Despite Cash and Glasspool securing the Year-End ATP Doubles No. 1 presented by PIF title earlier this week following an impressive season of seven titles, they couldn’t cap off their year with a championship match appearance in Turin. Salisbury and Skupski prevailed in a nail-biting semi-final lasting one hour and 31 minutes.

With this victory, Salisbury has now claimed triumph in his last 14 Nitto ATP Finals matches, having celebrated victories in Turin during 2022 and 2023 alongside Rajeev Ram. Notably, the 33-year-old didn’t qualify for the tournament last year. Skupski, making his debut in the finals of this prestigious event, will partner with Salisbury against Harri Heliovaara and Henry Patten on Sunday at 3 PM local time (CET).

It All Adds Up

The first set was a tightly contested affair, with the teams trading points but only a single break point to speak of, leading to a tense tie-break. Cash and Glasspool showcased their aggressive style, firing powerful returns to take the lead in the breaker.

However, in the second set, Salisbury and Skupski shifted the momentum dramatically, achieving an early break of serve and solidifying their advantage with an impressive 94% success rate on their first serves. They ultimately triumphed in a nerve-wracking tie-breaker to secure their spot in the final.

With a season record of 46-21, Salisbury and Skupski are on the hunt for their first title of 2025 together this week, having previously reached finals at both Roland Garros and the US Open.
