The undisputed King of Clay, boasting an impressive 112-4 career record and 14 triumphant titles in Paris, is excited for the occasion.

This is a stark contrast to last year’s event, where Nadal faced an unexpected early exit against Alexander Zverev and was uncertain about his future in the sport.

“Today isn’t the day for reflection on those matters. It’s a moment to keep pushing forward,” Nadal commented back then.

In commemoration of Rafa’s first year post-retirement, a heartfelt tribute is set to occur after the conclusion of the day’s matches on the opening day of the tournament. Additionally, a captivating exhibit dedicated to Nadal will be available for guests throughout the tournament at the Roland-Garros Tenniseum.

“We had intended to honor him last year, but he was hesitant at that time,” said Mauresmo. “He wasn’t ready to declare it his final Roland Garros. Now, as a retired champion, he looks forward to this moment.”

This year, the tournament will also celebrate Mary Pierce in recognition of the 25th anniversary of her achievements in singles and doubles.

The ceremony honoring Pierce is slated for June 5, between the women’s semi-finals, and will include a special presentation of the ring signifying her induction into the International Tennis Hall of Fame.
