LAS VEGAS — Rafael Nadal is set to make a splash in Las Vegas early next year, signifying his first match in the U.S. since his retirement two years ago.

The legendary 22-time Grand Slam winner will be the star attraction at “The MGM Slam presented by Capital One” taking place at the T-Mobile Arena on February 28, as confirmed by organizers on Monday.

Nadal had previously faced off against Carlos Alcaraz at the Vegas exhibition in 2024, marking his last year on the professional circuit.

“The atmosphere of a packed arena in a vibrant city like Las Vegas was truly unforgettable,” reflected the 40-year-old Nadal. “Now, I return at a different point in my life, free from the tour’s pressures, yet my passion for tennis remains unchanged. Competing has always been a part of who I am, and although my professional journey has concluded, that thrill is everlasting.”

Details regarding additional players and the event’s structure will be released in the weeks ahead. This exhibition is scheduled just prior to the ATP 1000 event in Indian Wells, California.

Last year’s exhibition featured eight players competing in an exciting tiebreaker format.
