Rafael Jodar and Gilles Arnaud Bailly have made impressive leaps in the PIF ATP Live Race to Jeddah, fueled by their remarkable recent outcomes.

Spanish rising star Jodar has shot up nine places to capture the ninth spot in the Live Race after triumphing at his second ATP Challenger Tour event this season. Remarkably, the 19-year-old didn’t register a single double fault during his victorious run in Lincoln, United States. A former sparring partner at the 2024 Next Gen ATP Finals presented by PIF, he’s now a contender for qualification this year.

Last season, Jodar clinched the US Open Boys’ Singles title and his upward trajectory continues, having also secured a Challenger Tour title in Greece in August. With 267 points, he trails eighth-placed Nishesh Basaverredy by 82 points, who currently holds the last qualifying slot.

Everything Counts

Bailly, at just 20 years old, has leapfrogged four positions to rank 11th in the Live Race. The Belgian talent enjoyed a phenomenal week at the ATP 250 event in Brussels, where he battled through qualifying and defeated Daniel Altmaier to notch his first tour-level victory.

“Competing in an ATP event is always thrilling, but doing so in my own country and advancing past the first round made it incredibly special. I’m eager to continue this momentum; it’s been a great year for me,” Bailly shared.

Kicking off the season outside the Top 800 in the PIF ATP Rankings, Bailly has soared to No. 232. He takes great pride in the strides he’s made throughout the year.

“I dedicated myself at the start of the year and had positive results in the Futures circuit. As I continued to play more Challengers, my level improved, opening doors for opportunities in the Next Gen competition, for which I’m very grateful,” Bailly said to ATPTour.com.
