Emma Raducanu is embarking on a new chapter in her coaching journey.
Nick Cavaday has made the decision to step back from his role as Raducanu’s coach to focus on his health and spend more time at home.

Cavaday, who has been with Raducanu since she was a child, shared his thoughts in a heartfelt statement.
“At this time, I need to focus on my health and family, which has been challenging to manage alongside the demanding tennis schedule,” Cavaday expressed. “I’m proud of Emma’s progress on the tour.”
After recovering from ankle surgery and wrist operations in the spring of 2023, the 22-year-old British star enjoyed a stellar comeback season. Last year, the 2021 US Open champion reached the Wimbledon round of 16 and made quarterfinal appearances in Washington, D.C., and Seoul, capping off the 2024 season ranked No. 58.
“I want to express my gratitude to Nick for his invaluable support over the past year, especially during my recovery,” Raducanu remarked. “I wish him the best as he embarks on his next journey, and I’m sure we will keep in touch.”
Making history, the 150th-ranked Brit became the first player to go from qualifying to winning a Grand Slam singles title at the 2021 US Open.
This stunning victory at Flushing Meadows accelerated Raducanu’s growth and introduced her to the fierce competition within the sport.
Currently positioned at No. 61, Raducanu reached the third round of the Australian Open last week.
However, a formidable Iga Swiatek bested Raducanu with commanding scores of 6-1, 6-0, progressing into the fourth round of the Australian Open for the fifth time.
With this change, Raducanu will now be on the lookout for her seventh coach in her professional career, having previously collaborated with Cavaday, Nigel Sears, Andrew Richardson, Torben Beltz, Iain Bates, and Sebastian Sachs.
