Emma Raducanu is set to regain her momentum at the Qatar Total Open in Doha.

The talented Brit, currently ranked No. 56 in the world, has been granted a wild card entry to participate in the upcoming tournament.

Unfortunately, the 22-year-old has faced challenges lately, suffering back-to-back first-round defeats. She lost to No. 101 Cristina Bucsa in Singapore and was then edged out by 2023 Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova with a score of 6-3, 6-4 in Abu Dhabi earlier this week.

Last year, Iga Swiatek created history in Doha.

Trailing 1-4, Swiatek made an incredible comeback, saving a set point in the tiebreaker and defeating Elena Rybakina 7-6(8), 6-2. This victory marked her third consecutive Qatar Open title, solidifying her legacy as the first to win the tournament three times.

Despite a challenging start, Swiatek elevated her game, showcasing powerful strokes and pinpoint accuracy to overcome both the difficult windy conditions and the formidable 2022 Wimbledon winner, who had previously bested her three times straight.

“The match was lengthy and extremely tough,” Swiatek commented post-match after over two hours on court. “Kudos to Elena for an outstanding tournament and to her entire team.”

“The matches were intense, and I believe it will be fantastic if we can keep this momentum going, providing an entertaining experience for the fans.”

By achieving this remarkable feat, the top-seeded Swiatek became the first female player since Serena Williams to secure three consecutive titles at a WTA tournament, previously winning the Miami Open from 2013 to 2015.
