The upcoming ATP 250 tournament in Athens may determine Lorenzo Musetti’s ambitions for the Nitto ATP Finals, while it also promises an early challenge for the legendary Novak Djokovic, adding to the excitement surrounding the Vanda Pharmaceuticals Hellenic Championship.
With just one Nitto ATP Finals berth still available, Musetti is in a fierce race to keep his dreams alive in a competitive PIF ATP Live Race To Turin, which could culminate on the final week of the season. Meanwhile, top seed Djokovic may kick off his journey against a renowned adversary—Alejandro Tabilo—who is among three players to have faced the Serbian at least twice without a loss.

Musetti, currently ranked eighth in the PIF ATP Live Race To Turin, is eager to secure his debut at the Nitto ATP Finals and join his compatriot Jannik Sinner at the season finale on home ground.
If ninth-ranked Felix Auger-Aliassime clinches victory in his semi-final at the Rolex Paris Masters, he will surpass Musetti, increasing the stakes for the 23-year-old in Athens. Musetti will face either former world No. 3 Stan Wawrinka or Dutch tennis player Botic van de Zandschulp in his opener.
Djokovic, making his return since Shanghai, will be pitted against either Tabilo or Australian Adam Walton in his first match. Tabilo has previously triumphed over Djokovic earlier this year in Monte-Carlo and again last season in Rome. Djokovic boasts a season record of 35-11, according to the Infosys ATP Win/Loss Index.
