A new chapter unfolds in tennis as the legendary player and two-time Grand Slam champion Marat Safin has officially joined Andrey Rublev‘s coaching setup, according to reports from Russian media outlet Bolshe.
While Fernando Vicente continues to serve as Rublev’s primary coach, Safin will be stepping in as a mentor and advisor, bringing his wealth of experience to the team. Rublev, currently ranked World No. 9, has publicly expressed that Safin’s guidance has been instrumental during challenging times in his career.
Safin is set to join Rublev on the clay court circuit this season, starting with the prestigious Masters tournament in Monte-Carlo.

Safin, famous for clinching the US Open in 2000 and the Australian Open in 2005, boasts an impressive record with 15 ATP titles to his name.
Rublev, ranked ninth, has amassed 17 titles but is yet to reach beyond the quarterfinals at a Grand Slam event. The 27-year-old from Moscow is currently facing a three-match losing streak following his triumph in Doha earlier this February.
