Jasmine Paolini made headlines last summer as she competed in consecutive Grand Slam finals under the guidance of coach Renzo Furlan.

Today, the sixth-ranked player, Paolini, has announced that her long-standing collaboration with Furlan has come to a close.

“I want to extend a massive thank you to Renzo Furlan for everything he’s contributed to my career after our amazing ten years together,” Paolini shared on Instagram. “We’ve embarked on an extraordinary journey, featuring unforgettable highlights such as last year’s finals at Wimbledon and Roland Garros, and winning Olympic gold in Paris.”

“2025 has kicked off splendidly as well. Renzo has played an essential role in my development as both a player and an individual. The lessons I’ve gained from him will always be a part of me and will guide my future endeavors. He will undoubtedly remain an integral part of this new chapter in my life.”

During her fruitful partnership with Furlan, Paolini reached a career-high ranking of No. 4 last summer.

This news comes shortly after Paolini achieved her best result of the season, reaching the semifinals at the Miami Open.

The talented 29-year-old Italian triumphed over Rebecca Sramkova, Ons Jabeur, Naomi Osaka, and Magda Linette before ultimately falling to world No. 1 and eventual champion Aryna Sabalenka in the final four.

Last July, Barbora Krejcikova showcased her skills while channeling her mentor, 1998 Wimbledon champion Jana Novotna, defeating the spirited Paolini 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 to claim her place as the eighth different woman to lift the Wimbledon trophy in as many years.

This marked Krejcikova’s second Grand Slam singles title, her first coming three years prior when she defeated Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 6-1, 2-6, 6-4 in the Roland Garros final. Her Wimbledon triumph further cemented Krejcikova’s upcoming induction into the Hall of Fame, given her impressive accomplishments in both singles and doubles.

Paolini, meanwhile, earned the title of People’s Champion during that Wimbledon fortnight, winning the hearts of fans with her determination and infectious smile that radiated from Centre Court all the way to the Southfields Station along Church Road.
