Jannik Sinner is on the brink of making history.
While the Italian may face tough competition in his pursuit of the ATP Year-End No. 1 presented by PIF title, an analysis by Infosys ATP Beyond The Numbers reveals that the World No. 2 has a unique opportunity to etch his name into the record books.
The 24-year-old currently excels in both service games won and return games won, marking a milestone no player has reached since ATP began recording these stats in 1991.
Service Games Won (as he approaches Paris)
Paving his way to the Rolex Paris Masters, Sinner boasts an impressive 91.5 percent success rate in service games this season. The next closest competitor, Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, stands at 89.3 percent. Following them are Taylor Fritz (89.3%), Reilly Opelka (89%), and Novak Djokovic (88.5%).
What’s intriguing is that none of the other top five players in the service games won category appear in the top five for return games won. Sinner, however, leads both fronts, having successfully claimed 32.7 percent of his return games.
Return Games Won (as he approaches Paris)
Sinner’s formidable competitor, World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz, is a mere two-hundredths of a percentage behind Sinner. Alex de Minaur follows in a distant third with 30.1 percent, alongside Sebastian Baez and Francisco Cerundolo, both at 28.7 percent.
Last year, Sinner became the first Italian to secure the ATP Year-End No. 1 presented by PIF title. Impressively, in 2025, his statistics show a higher rate of success in service games (91.5% vs. 91.4%) and return games (32.7% vs. 28.3%) compared to the previous year.
Significantly, Sinner has made great strides in his return game, previously breaking serve at a rate of no more than 29.2 percent, a mark he surpassed in 2023.
These improvements have kept him well in contention for the year-end No. 1 position with less than a month left in the season, especially after Alcaraz faced an unexpected second-round exit in Paris.
As the tournament unfolds, Alcaraz sits sixth in service games won at 87.5% while remaining second in return games won at 32.7%.
Sinner is set to kick off his Rolex Paris Masters journey on Wednesday against Zizou Bergs.
