On Saturday, Jannik Sinner cruised into his first-ever final at the Rolex Paris Masters, dominating a visibly hindered Alexander Zverev with a stunning scoreline of 6-0, 6-1.

The relentless second seed showcased his talent, striking 23 winners against just 12 unforced errors, improving his head-to-head record with Zverev to 5-4. Zverev had triumphed in Paris last year but struggled on the court, showing signs of fatigue during his semi-final after dragging through a match against Daniil Medvedev the night before.

“When a player loses their physical edge like he did, it really impacts their serve,” said Sinner. Notably, he won 13 of 16 points on Zverev’s second serve, as recorded by Infosys ATP Stats. “I’m excited to be in the final, though this isn’t the way you want to progress. Competing against Sascha is always memorable, but today, he wasn’t at his best.”

“I could see he was physically struggling. He battled hard yesterday, saving two match points, but making the final in Vienna and reaching the semis here is a remarkable achievement. We all wish him a speedy recovery for Turin.”

Having extended his indoor hard court winning streak to 25, Sinner now looks forward to facing Felix Auger-Aliassime. The 24-year-old has reached nine ATP Masters 1000 finals and is aiming for his third title of the season, following near misses in Rome and Cincinnati against Carlos Alcaraz.

Zverev will need to quickly recuperate for the Nitto ATP Finals, where he is a two-time victor. His current record stands at 54-23 for the year, marked by a title in Munich and a significant performance in the Australian Open final.

Currently trailing Alcaraz by just 100 points in the PIF ATP Live Rankings, Sinner stands on the brink of reclaiming the World No. 1 status if he clinches the title on Sunday. The two have split their previous encounters, with Sinner winning their last two matchups in Cincinnati and the US Open this year.

“Felix is playing exceptional tennis right now, and he has made great improvements,” Sinner remarked about Auger-Aliassime. “It should be an exhilarating match for both of us. I’m thrilled for Felix; he’s one of the nicest athletes on tour. I anticipate a tough battle ahead.”

Sinner has reached the final in nine of the 11 tournaments he’s contested this year, racking up wins at both the Australian Open and Wimbledon. This marks his second consecutive year reaching nine finals, now tying with Alcaraz for the most Top-10 victories in 2025 (13).
