Iva Jovic and Emilio Nava are set for an exciting debut at Roland-Garros!
The USTA has proudly announced that this dynamic duo has triumphed in the Roland-Garros wild card challenge. Competing fiercely in clay court tournaments worldwide, they amassed the highest ranking points over the thrilling five-week period, securing their spots in the main draw of the iconic tournament in Paris.
The USTA’s wild card challenge serves as an incredible opportunity to earn entry into the prestigious Australian, French, and US Opens.
At just 17 years old, Jovic finished the Challenge with an impressive 142 points. Her remarkable performance included a victory at the USTA Pro Circuit W100 in Charlottesville, VA (100 points) and second-round finishes at both the WTA 250 in Bogotá (30 points) and the USTA Pro Circuit W100 in Bonita Springs, FL (12 points). Hailing from Torrance, Jovic has now qualified for the last three major tournaments, previously reaching the second round at Indian Wells, the 2024 US Open, and the Australian Open this year.
Currently ranked 120, Jovic also made a notable impact last year by reaching the quarterfinals at the Roland-Garros Girls’ tournament, peaking at No. 2 in the junior rankings.
On the men’s side, 137-ranked Emilio Nava clinched victory in the men’s Challenge with 119 points, showcasing his talent this spring. He reached back-to-back ATP Challenger finals, claiming the title in Sarasota, FL (75 points) and finishing as a finalist in Tallahassee, FL (44 points) while riding an incredible 19-match win streak.
Nava, 23, boasts a solid record of 31-11 across all levels in 2025, with all but two of his matches contested on clay, and has achieved a commendable 6-3 record against the ATP’s Top-150.
