LONDON — In a significant move, the International Tennis Federation has announced it will be rebranding as “World Tennis” starting in 2026.

This decision was endorsed on Thursday during the annual general meeting, where national tennis associations voted in favor of the change.

According to the ITF, “This transformation will create a more distinct identity, resonating with players, fans, partners, and all tennis stakeholders globally. It aligns our brand with leading sports governing bodies around the world.”

ITF president David Haggerty remarked, “World Tennis embodies our current essence; we are the global governing body and protector of the sport, dedicated to working with our members to promote tennis for a lifetime.”

Originally established as the International Lawn Tennis Federation in Paris in 1913, the organization adopted the name International Tennis Federation in 1977.
