For Alizé Cornet, stepping back onto the tennis courts brings the exhilarating feeling of youth.
As the 35-year-old French tennis star gears up for her return, she has announced that she will not be participating in Roland Garros this May.

“I’ve decided against playing at Roland Garros,” Cornet stated ahead of her much-anticipated comeback.
The former world No. 11 is set to compete in the WTA 125 event in La Bisbal d’Emporda, followed by a WTA 250 tournament in Rouen next month.
“This tournament holds a special place in my heart as I haven’t been active on the court for the past ten months,” Cornet reflected. “Over the last two months, I’ve prepared diligently for this tournament and others.”
“It’s truly special to be back, and the beauty of the region has captured my heart. It’s my first visit to Costa Brava, and I hope to find time to explore and soak in the scenery.”
With a current ranking of No. 532, Cornet emphasized that the essence of her return lies in the joy she derives from playing.
“I trained very hard to prepare for this comeback,” she shared. “My game is feeling great, but the key is to have fun on the court.”
“I find myself genuinely enjoying my time out there, smiling all the time, and embracing the thrill of it all. It feels like I’m young again! I hope to carry this positive mindset into my matches.”
Cornet has also expressed intentions to compete in the qualifying rounds for the WTA 1000 tournaments in Madrid and Rome.
