Two additional Canadian men’s players are gearing up to take the stage at the National Bank Open presented by Rogers in Toronto.

In an exciting announcement from Tennis Canada on Wednesday, Alexis Galarneau from Laval, Quebec, and Nicolas Arseneault from Richmond Hill, Ontario, have been awarded wild cards into the main draw of the tournament.

Galarneau, now making his third appearance at the National Bank Open, is riding high after re-establishing himself within the top 200 rankings, currently sitting at No. 198 following his impressive quarterfinal showing at the Granby National Bank Championships.

At just 18 years old, Arseneault is the highest-ranked Canadian junior and will be stepping onto the ATP main-draw stage for the very first time.

Earlier, Liam Draxl from Newmarket, Ontario, and Vasek Pospisil from Vernon, British Columbia, also secured wild cards for the main draw. Pospisil, a seasoned veteran with 18 years of professional play, famously clinched the Wimbledon men’s doubles title in 2014 alongside American Jack Sock and plans to hang up his racquet after this tournament.

Additionally, Montreal’s Felix Auger-Aliassime, Denis Shapovalov of Richmond Hill, and Gabriel Diallo from Montreal will also be in the main draw, promising an exciting lineup.

The National Bank Open tournaments kick off with qualifying matches on Saturday and continue until August 7.
