In an exhilarating matchup, Canada’s own Gabriela Dabrowski, alongside American Evan King, secured their place in the mixed doubles final at the French Open on Wednesday, triumphing over Croatia’s Nikola Mektic and American Asia Muhammad with a score of 7-5, 6-7 (6), 10-5.

The unseeded duo of Dabrowski and King will take on the formidable Italian pair of Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori in the final, who sailed past Germany’s Laura Siegemund and France’s Edouard Roger-Vasselin in the other semifinal.

Originally from Ottawa, Dabrowski is also competing in the women’s doubles at this prestigious Grand Slam tournament alongside Brazil’s Luisa Stefani. The fourth-seeded pair has advanced to the semifinals and will face the top-seeded team of Czechia’s Katerina Siniakova and American Taylor Townsend next.

On the singles front, Felix Auger-Aliassime was the last Canadian competitor standing at Roland Garros, though he was eliminated in the quarterfinals by Italy’s Flavio Cobolli. Cobolli, who holds the No. 10 seed, is set to compete against compatriot Matteo Arnaldi in the semifinals.

Additionally, the semifinals will feature a clash between second-seeded Alexander Zverev of Germany and 26th-seeded Jakub Mensik.
