Joao Fonseca is making waves in Miami!
The young Brazilian created a buzz at the Masters 1000 tournament when organizers suddenly switched his match from Grandstand to Stadium due to security concerns.
This last-minute decision led to a massive shift in the crowd, with fans eager to watch Jack Draper and Jackub Mensik racing to the exits during the second set announcement.
Those who ventured to the Hard Rock Stadium were rewarded, as the 18-year-old Fonseca took on Ugo Humbert, triumphing with a score of 6-4, 6-3. This victory marks him as the youngest player to reach the third round in Miami since Juan Martin del Potro in 2007.

Fonseca didn’t just secure a win; he left spectators in awe.
In the sixth game of the second set, he unleashed a forehand winner at 96 MPH, followed by another at an astounding 113 MPH.
This effortless power has catapulted Fonseca to the ATP rankings, where he now stands at 58, making him one of the most talked-about up-and-comers in tennis.
“When the crowd is behind a player, it really ramps up the energy,” reflected Fonseca after his match. “I served well today, grabbed an early break, and I think Ugo felt some nerves at the start, which gave me the edge I needed.”
Next up, Fonseca will battle either Alex de Minaur in the third round.
