Felix Auger-Aliassime marked Canada Day with a triumphant win!
The talented player from Montreal triumphed in his second-round Wimbledon encounter, defeating Croatia’s Dino Prizmic with a score of 7-6 (2), 6-3, 7-5 on Wednesday.
As the third seed, Auger-Aliassime has impressively not dropped a single set in his two matches at the prestigious All England Club.
Next up, he will take on U.S. qualifier Michael Zheng, who made headlines by knocking out England’s Cam Norrie in the first round.
Auger-Aliassime showcased his powerful serve, delivering 15 aces compared to just three for Prizmic, and winning an incredible 86 percent of his first-serve points. He successfully converted two of his four break-point chances while remaining unbroken himself.
Currently, only one other Canadian remains in the singles competition, with Gabriel Diallo preparing to clash with Italy’s Lorenzo Sonego in a second-round match on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Ottawa’s Gabriela Dabrowski will take to the court with her Brazilian partner Luisa Stefani, entering as the No. 2 seed in the women’s doubles on Thursday.
