This past Friday afternoon, under pleasant breezes, Novak Djokovic triumphed over Grigor Dimitrov in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3, successfully securing his spot in the finals of the Miami Open for the eighth time.

The legendary Serbian, who is now 37 years old, made his much-anticipated return to Miami, having last competed there in 2019. This marks his first final appearance at the tournament since claiming the title back in 2016.

Currently sitting at No. 5 in the world rankings, Djokovic boasts an impressive record with 24 Grand Slam men’s singles titles—more than any other player in the sport’s history.

A victory in the Miami Open final this Sunday would not only add to his accolades but also mark an incredible milestone as it would be his 100th career ATP singles title.

Following his impressive win against Dimitrov, Djokovic reflected on his performance in an exclusive interview with Tennis TV, stating: “The highlight of my game today was undoubtedly my serve. I managed an astounding 83% in my last match, and I thought it would be a tough benchmark to surpass, yet today I reached 87%.”

So, I don’t know how to express this. I’ve been serving exceptionally well, and if I can maintain this rhythm, it certainly makes my life a lot easier on the court.”

When discussing his pursuit of 100 titles, he shared: “After the Olympics, where I achieved 99 titles, it became clear to me that every tournament would be about chasing that 100.”

Sadly, it was elusive until now, but I plan to give my all on Sunday.”

I haven’t lost a single set so far, and I’m playing some of the best tennis I’ve played in a long time, so I hope to keep this momentum going.”

In the final showdown on Sunday, Djokovic will clash with 19-year-old rising star Jakub Mensik. The young Czech talent reached his first-ever ATP Masters 1000 final after a thrilling three-set battle against American top seed Taylor Fritz, winning 7-6(4), 4-6, 7-6(4).
