Denis Shapovalov and Mirjam Bjorklund joyously announced their marriage earlier this month, sharing lovely moments from their ceremony on social media. The couple exchanged vows on September 9th at the idyllic Lesante Cape, set against the backdrop of Zakynthos, Greece.
“It was a truly extraordinary experience,” Shapovalov expressed to ATPTour.com. “Each day spent in Zakynthos with our closest friends and family surpassed our expectations, and marrying my best friend in such a beautiful location was a dream come true.”
The journey of love for the couple began in 2019, with Shapovalov proposing to Bjorklund in July 2023. Their ceremony provided a breathtaking view of the Ionian Sea, creating a picture-perfect setting.
“Selecting Lesante Cape for our wedding venue was the best decision,” shared Bjorklund, now known as Mirjam Shapovalova. “The weather was perfect, and every single moment felt surreal. It was the ideal beginning to our married life, and we’re thrilled to embark on forever together.”
Currently ranked No. 26 in the PIF ATP Rankings, Shapovalov holds a season record of 21-17, as per the Infosys ATP Win/Loss Index. In February, he celebrated a career milestone by clinching the ATP 500 title in Dallas, and he later triumphed in Los Cabos in July without losing a single set.
