Cameron Norrie Takes on Natalie Pike: Barcelona Lexus ATP Head2Head Challenge Recap
By ATP Staff

Cameron Norrie is no stranger to the clay courts of the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell, but this week, he faced a unique challenge at the ATP 500 event.

During his seventh appearance in Barcelona, Norrie faced off against host Natalie Pike in a thrilling iteration of the Lexus ATP Head2Head Challenge. Their competition featured an inventive twist on the Catalan tradition of castells: the two had to create a tennis-ball pyramid, followed by a challenge using tennis-ball cans.

But the fun didn’t stop there! After building their towers, the next task was to knock them down from a short distance using tennis balls. As a seasoned ATP Tour champion and former No. 8 in the PIF ATP Rankings, Norrie wielded his racquet while Pike had the ‘easier’ job of simply tossing the balls at her structures.

“Are you quick?” Norrie inquired playfully before they began.

“Not at all! How about you?” Pike responded.

“Let’s find out. I might just follow your lead!”

Did Norrie adopt a copycat strategy to beat Pike at her own game, or did he craft his own winning approach? Watch the video below to see whose pyramid strategy emerged victorious!
