After clinching ATP Challenger Tour titles in Bratislava and Charlottesville, Alexander Blockx and Rafael Jodar have made impressive strides in the PIF ATP Live Race To Jeddah.

In his journey, Blockx triumphed over former World No. 21 Jan-Lennard Struff in the first round and defeated Titouan Droguet in the final, securing his second Challenger Tour title of the season. The 20-year-old Belgian now sits fourth in the Live Race To Jeddah and is poised for his debut at the Next Gen ATP Finals presented by PIF in December. Earlier this season, he also marked a victory in the main draw at the ATP Masters 1000 event in Cincinnati.

Rafael Jodar, the Spaniard, has ascended to ninth place following his victory in Charlottesville. At just 19 years old, Jodar, who previously served as a sparring partner for the under-20 event in 2024, has achieved success in two Challengers in just three weeks.

In a recent chat with ATPTour.com, Jodar shared insights on maintaining a balance between his education and tennis career.

“I make sure to finish all my assignments and tasks on Friday and Saturday so I can enjoy Sundays off,” he informed ATPTour.com in October. “I always have my laptop with me. It’s essential to keep my mind occupied and not focus solely on tennis all day. During my free time, I catch up on studies for the weeks I miss.”

Coming from a family of educators, Jodar takes pride in balancing academics with his burgeoning tennis career.

“My parents have always prioritized education,” Jodar noted. “I share that belief. Education is vital for personal growth.”

The Next Gen ATP Finals presented by PIF are set to be held in Jeddah from December 17-21. The cutoff for the Live Race is November 10, determining the top eight players who will qualify for this prestigious 20-and-under event. Joao Fonseca was crowned champion in 2024, joining the ranks of past winners like Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz.
