Felix Auger-Aliassime has narrowed the gap to Lorenzo Musetti in the PIF ATP Live Race To Turin, advancing to the semi-finals at the Rolex Paris Masters after a commanding performance against French wild card Valentin Vacherot.

Vacherot, who had celebrated a remarkable streak of 10 consecutive ATP Masters 1000 victories, including a stunning triumph in Shanghai earlier this month, found himself overwhelmed by Auger-Aliassime’s explosive shots and relentless intensity. The ninth seed secured a decisive 6-2, 6-2 win, marking his entry into a fourth Masters 1000 semi-final.

“Every opponent presents a unique challenge. Coming onto the court against a player like him—whom I know from practice but hadn’t faced in a match before—was intriguing. His confidence can be intimidating,” Auger-Aliassime remarked. “It was crucial for me to maintain my focus from the very start, and the intensity I brought to the first game certainly helped set the tone for the match.”

Having battled back from a set down in his prior three matches, Auger-Aliassime took charge early against Vacherot, breaking serve in the opening game. The 25-year-old has now reached 10 semi-finals on tour this season, clinching titles in Adelaide, Montpellier, and Brussels.

Next up for Auger-Aliassime is a showdown against either Alex de Minaur or Alexander Bublik. With his current standing, he is now just 145 points behind Musetti in the Live Race To Turin and could surpass him with a final appearance. Auger-Aliassime aims for his second trip to the Nitto ATP Finals, having previously qualified in 2022.

In his quarterfinal match, he delivered 22 winners while committing 10 unforced errors, bringing his season record to 47-21 according to the Infosys ATP Win/Loss Index.

“My focus is on winning every match, regardless of the time of year,” Auger-Aliassime added. “Every win contributes to the bigger picture. My dedication and consistent training routines pay off, making it all the more rewarding when my results reflect this consistency.”

Vacherot made headlines by becoming the lowest-ranked player ever to clinch a Masters 1000 title in Shanghai. Following his quarter-final appearance in Paris, he has risen 10 spots in the PIF ATP Live Rankings to No. 30.
