The Hopman Cup makes its thrilling debut in Canada!

In a stunning finale, Felix Auger-Aliassime and Bianca Andreescu triumphed over Flavio Cobolli and Lucia Bronzetti on Sunday to seize the coveted title.

Andreescu kicked off the showdown by defeating Bronzetti with a decisive score of 6-2, 6-3. Auger-Aliassime faced a nail-biting challenge against Cobolli, ultimately falling in three sets (7-6 (7), 5-7, 8-10).

However, the Canadian pair rallied back to outmaneuver their Italian counterparts with a solid performance in mixed doubles, clinching the match 6-3, 6-3!

Remarkably, Andreescu finished the tournament with a flawless record, going 6-for-6 in matches without dropping a single set. This victory marks her first tournament win since 2019, when she captured three singles titles, including the prestigious US Open.

Meanwhile, Auger-Aliassime continues to shine in mixed doubles competitions, having recently earned a bronze medal at the 2024 Olympics in Paris alongside partner Gabriela Dabrowski.

Founded in 1988, the Hopman Cup features six teams representing their nations, with a unique format of men’s and women’s singles matches followed by mixed doubles, awarding one point for each victory.

Group A showcased Canada, Greece, and Spain, while Group B was comprised of Italy, France, and Croatia.
