Canada’s own Félix Auger-Aliassime triumphed in the first round of the Terra Wortmann Open on grass, defeating Portugal’s Nuno Borges with a scoreline of 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 this Monday.
As the world No. 4 and the tournament’s second seed, Auger-Aliassime executed a pivotal second break, taking the lead at 5-3 in the final set before sealing the match with a commanding service game.
The 25-year-old Montreal native showcased his dominance with 9 aces to Borges’ 5, while only facing two break points, successfully saving one.
