LONDON — In an exciting development, Andy Murray is set to join Jack Draper’s coaching squad for the upcoming grass-court season, including the prestigious Wimbledon tournament.

Draper, who reached the semifinals of the U.S. Open in 2024 and achieved a career-high ranking of No. 4 last year, has faced a series of injuries, currently placing him at No. 50.

Recently, Draper announced his split from coach Jamie Delgado, marking a new chapter in his career.

Having retired in 2024, Murray is a two-time Wimbledon champion, securing titles in 2013 and 2016, and he also clinched Olympic gold at the All England Club during the 2012 London Games.

This will mark Murray’s second foray into coaching since retirement, as he previously lent his expertise to Novak Djokovic last year.

“I am incredibly thankful for everything Jamie Delgado has contributed to my game over the last six months,” Draper commented. “He is a phenomenal coach and an even better person.”

“In the meantime, I will continue my journey with the fantastic team at the LTA (Lawn Tennis Association) and welcome Andy Murray’s support during the grass-court season,” Draper shared in an announcement from the LTA on Tuesday.

As a source of inspiration for Draper, Murray and he played together at the 2023 Davis Cup Finals in Manchester and even faced off in Indian Wells, California, that same year.
