Embracing his newfound passion for golf post-retirement, Andy Murray isn’t shy about poking fun at his skills.
During his time at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, he played alongside golfing stars such as Ryder Cup champions Tyrrell Hatton and Robert MacIntyre, along with Eddie Pepperell. Last Friday, he had a near miss in a bunker that he couldn’t resist sharing.
“I know, I know, I’m awful at golf 🤣🤣,” Murray quipped on his Instagram Stories, re-sharing the hilarious moment.

“It’s been fantastic,” Murray expressed in a Golf Channel interview. “Getting the chance to play alongside these pros as an amateur is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. All the professionals have been incredibly supportive and patient, so I’m just thrilled to be here.”
Other notable participants include hockey icon Wayne Gretzky, media personality Piers Morgan, and actor Bill Murray.
Scottish golfer MacIntyre praised the three-time major champion: “He’s looking good on the course. Overall, he has played solidly.”
Despite his mishap in the bunker, Murray has also displayed impressive skills, sinking long putts despite challenging conditions. More than a year after stepping away from professional tennis, the former No. 1 player in the PIF ATP Rankings is clearly relishing his time on the golf course.
