Alex de Minaur has clinched his place in the Nitto ATP Finals for the second year running.
The 26-year-old secured his ticket to the season’s ultimate showdown in Turin following his quarter-final run at the Rolex Paris Masters on Thursday.
Before De Minaur’s impressive debut last year, the last Australian to grace this tournament was Lleyton Hewitt in 2004. Now, De Minaur is all set to return to the iconic Inalpi Arena!
This year marks a milestone as De Minaur became the seventh player to qualify for Turin, celebrating his third ATP 500 title in Washington, where he showcased remarkable tenacity by saving three championship points against Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in a nail-biting final.
Additionally, he reached the finals in Rotterdam and made it to the semi-finals in Monte-Carlo, Beijing, and Vienna, where he marked his 300th tour-level win.
As of his third-round victory against Karen Khachanov in Paris, De Minaur leads the ATP Tour with 42 hard-court wins this season.
The race for the year-end championships is heating up, with Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, Alexander Zverev, Novak Djokovic, Ben Shelton, and Taylor Fritz already confirmed. Currently, Lorenzo Musetti sits eighth in the PIF ATP Live Race to Turin, while Felix Auger-Aliassime trails him by 290 points as he pushes through the Paris quarter-finals.
