A thrilling week in Vienna and Basel dramatically altered the landscape of the ATP 500 Bonus Pool for 2025, with a generous $3 million pool shared amongst six remarkable competitors.
Carlos Alcaraz had already secured the top position and a minimum of $1 million in bonus rewards after clinching the Tokyo title in September, amassing an impressive 1,930 PIF ATP Rankings points at the ATP 500 level, also capturing trophies in Rotterdam and Queen’s Club.
The contest for the remaining top spots was intense, with Alex de Minaur, Alexander Zverev, Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, and Jannik Sinner all making significant strides last week, solidifying their ranks. Andrey Rublev completed the top six lineup, highlighted by his championship in Doha and a runner-up finish in Hamburg.
ATP 500 Bonus Pool Standings
De Minaur’s journey to the Vienna semi-finals allowed him to maintain his lead over Zverev, who reached the event’s final. Both athletes met their match against Sinner, who propelled himself into the top six with a title win. Sinner also claimed victory at the Beijing tournament last month, with his two recent wins contributing to 1,000 of his 1,050 total points, while the remaining 50 points came from his opening-round triumph in Halle last June.
Basel finalist Davidovich Fokina successfully advanced past Sinner, bolstering his position with an outstanding performance before falling to Joao Fonseca, who secured his biggest career title, his first at the ATP 500 level.
The ATP 500 Bonus Pool saw a significant increase in 2025, more than doubling from last year’s distribution of $1.34 million to the five players who amassed the most points in the ATP 500 category.
