Leylah prepped for the 2023 Australian Open by competing at the ASB Classic in Auckland, where she faced Ysaline Bonaventure in the quarterfinals but fell short (4-6, 2-6).
During the Australian Open, Leylah fought hard but was narrowly defeated by Caroline Garcia in the second round (6-7, 5-7).
