Organizers have unveiled the anticipated schedule for Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner at the Miami Open, presented by Itau.
The top-seeded Alcaraz is set to dominate the upper portion of the draw, commencing his tournament on Friday evening against either Joao Fonseca or Fabian Marozsan, both slated to clash on Thursday. Remarkably, Alcaraz has never faced the 19-year-old Brazilian Fonseca, who was knocked out by Sinner in the fourth round at Indian Wells.
Notably, Alcaraz etched his name into history as the youngest Miami champion at just 18 years old in 2022. Now ranked No. 1 in the PIF ATP Rankings, he is on the hunt for his third title of the 2026 season after glorious victories at the Australian Open and in Doha. His flawless season kicked off was halted last week in Indian Wells after a semi-final defeat to Daniil Medvedev.
Meanwhile, second seed Sinner will launch his campaign on Saturday, taking on either Damir Dzumhur or qualifier Ignacio Buse. The 24-year-old boasts an impressive 19-3 record in Miami, as per the Infosys ATP Win/Loss Index, and has reached the finals in three of his four appearances, celebrating a victory in 2024.
Last week at Indian Wells, Sinner made headlines as he became one of only three — and the youngest — men to claim all six ATP Masters 1000 hard-court tournaments, joining legends Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer.
The hard-court excitement in Miami kicks off on Wednesday.
