Victoria Mboko has faced a challenging period since her glorious victory on home soil.

The Canadian rising star suffered her fourth consecutive loss on Tuesday, bowing out in straight sets against Ukraine’s Dayana Yastremska with scores of 6-3, 7-6 (3) at the Ningbo Open in China.

Remarkably, since her stunning win over Naomi Osaka in the finals of the National Bank Open presented by Rogers in Montreal, Mboko has yet to secure a single set.

In her most recent match, the 19-year-old faced challenges with her serve, failing to record an ace and committing seven double faults against Yastremska. Additionally, she allowed her opponent to capitalize on six of 14 break-point opportunities, though she did manage to convert five out of nine for herself.

Following her triumph in Canada, the Burlington, Ont. native has also exited in the first round at the US Open, China Open, and Wuhan Open.

Her recent defeat has positioned her at 22nd in the live WTA rankings.
