The 2025 Nitto ATP Finals have given fans more than just thrilling tennis action.
On Tuesday, just moments before the world No. 1, Carlos Alcaraz, was set to play against Taylor Fritz, a heartwarming surprise stole the spotlight in Turin. Isidoro Shrem, a fan hailing from Mexico City, took a knee to propose to his girlfriend, Susy Harari, right from their courtside seats at the Inalpi Arena.
“I felt a wave of nerves before it happened, and when the moment finally arrived, I was incredibly anxious,” Isidoro recalled to ATPTour.com, with the whole romantic proposal broadcasted live on the giant screen. “Luckily, it all turned out perfectly.”
Susy shared her joy, saying, “It was an unforgettable experience. The tournament is fabulous, and I never saw the proposal coming. Truly breathtaking!”

The couple has been together for four and a half years and are regular attendees of the Abierto Mexicano Telcel presentado por HSBC, an ATP 500 event in Acapulco. This week marks their inaugural visit to the Nitto ATP Finals, where both are ardent supporters of Carlos Alcaraz.
Alcaraz made sure their special day was memorable, battling to a 6-7(2), 7-5, 6-3 victory over Fritz right after the engagement announcement.
“I’m Alcaraz’s biggest fan! It was our first time seeing him live,” exclaimed Susy. They had intended to catch Alcaraz’s opening win against Alex de Minaur on Sunday in Turin but unfortunately missed it due to a flight delay. “Despite my nerves, I adore Alcaraz and was thrilled to see him turn it around.”
Isidoro added, “The match was spectacular; Alcaraz did some jaw-dropping things. He’s not just an incredible athlete but also someone who knows how to energize the crowd. We will cherish this day forever—it’s truly a highlight of our lives.”
