ATHENS — Stefanos Tsitsipas has decided to end his collaboration with coach Goran Ivanisevic after a brief but impactful partnership, as announced by the former world number three.

“My time with Goran Ivanisevic was short yet incredibly intense, marking a meaningful chapter in my career journey,” the Greek tennis sensation shared in a heartfelt message on Instagram. “I am grateful for the dedication, energy, and care he brought to my team and me.”

Tsitsipas, a two-time Grand Slam finalist who slipped out of the top 20 rankings in June, began his work with the 2001 Wimbledon champion Ivanisevic after a second-round exit at the French Open at the end of May.

Ivanisevic guided the 26-year-old Greek during tournaments in Halle and Wimbledon, where Tsitsipas had to retire in his opening match due to a back injury, trailing two sets to love against French player Valentin Royer.

“As we go our separate ways, I hold nothing but respect for Goran — not only for his accomplishments in tennis but also for the person he is,” Tsitsipas expressed. “I wish him the very best in his future endeavors.”

Next up for Tsitsipas is the National Bank Open presented by Rogers in Toronto, scheduled for this weekend.
