DALLAS, Texas — In a thrilling upset, Denis Shapovalov has raced into the finals of the ATP Dallas Open, toppling the third-seeded American, Tommy Paul, in an exhilarating semifinal match on Saturday.

The talented player from Richmond Hill, Ontario, claimed victory over Paul with a score of 7-5, 6-3, in a riveting 90-minute battle, just days after his stunning win against the top-seeded Taylor Fritz, whom he defeated 2-6, 6-3, 7-6 (2).

The Canadian star successfully converted two out of three break points, whereas Paul struggled, going 0-for-3. Notably, Shapovalov boasted an impressive 77 percent success rate on his first serves and seized 21 points while returning serve.

In the final, Shapovalov will face off against Norway’s second-seeded Casper Ruud, who narrowly edged out Spain’s Jaume Munar in the other semifinal match, winning 6-2, 2-6, 7-6 (4).
