The prize pool at Roland-Garros is seeing significant growth, but many players feel it’s still not enough to meet their demands.
In total, this year’s prize money has climbed 5.21% from 2024, reaching an impressive €56,352,000. However, players are advocating for a larger slice of the revenue pie, beyond mere inflation adjustments. Recently, they expressed their grievances in a letter directed to each of the four Grand Slam tournaments, and discussions are anticipated before the main events kick off at Roland-Garros on May 25.
According to Gilles Moretton, president of the French Tennis Federation, “We have received letters from the organizing committees of all four Grand Slams, and we are open to discussing these issues,” as reported by the London Times.
No official meetings have been scheduled yet. In the meantime, here’s a comparison of the 2025 prize money figures against those from 2024.
PRIZE MONEY
This year’s tournament boasts a total prize pool of €56.352 million, reflecting a 5.21% increase over the previous year (exact final figure to be confirmed, estimated increase of approximately €2.87 million).
