Basavareddy Set for Jeddah Comeback
American star gears up for his consecutive appearance in Jeddah
Date: November 29, 2025
Nishesh Basavareddy has successfully qualified for the Next Gen ATP Finals presented by PIF for an impressive second year in a row.
This season has been monumental for the American, marked by a stellar performance that led him to the semi-finals of the ATP 250 in Auckland back in January. Basavareddy officially entered the Top 100 in June, achieving a personal best ranking of No. 99 in the PIF ATP Rankings.
After dedicating two years to the Stanford University Cardinals, the 20-year-old transitioned to professional tennis last year, earning his spot in Jeddah. He will join fellow American Learner Tien, last year’s runner-up, in representing the USA at the 2025 event.

Basavareddy has benefited greatly from a decade-long mentorship under Rajeev Ram, a former World No. 1 doubles player and 32-time tour-level champion. Their connection, which traces back to their mutual coach, Bryan Smith, is anchored in the vibrant Indiana tennis community.
The upcoming 2025 Next Gen ATP Finals will take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, from December 17 to 21. Notable contenders alongside Basavareddy include Jakub Mensik, Tien, Alexander Blockx, Dino Prizmic, Martin Landaluce, and Nicolai Budkov Kjaer. The tournament has previously crowned champions like Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz.
