Tuesday may not have been the best day for Stan Wawrinka in Rotterdam, as he faced off against the formidable second seed, Daniil Medvedev, and lost in three thrilling sets. Yet, the true essence of the day lies beyond mere victories and defeats—Wawrinka’s unwavering passion for tennis continues to shine through.

His dedication has not gone unnoticed, especially by fellow three-time Grand Slam champion and former World No.1 Andy Murray. Murray, though selective with his tweets, always makes them count, and this occasion was no exception.

“Watching Stan the man @stanwawrinka battling with one of the best players in the world at nearly 40 years old in the first-round in Rotterdam – what a player!” Murray remarked on social media, adding the trending hashtag #levels.

Currently ranked 155 with a season record of 0-3, Wawrinka depends on wild card entries to participate in events like Rotterdam. Yet, his spirit remains unbroken, as showcased by his remarkable performance in the first set filled with grit, which he secured in a tiebreaker against Medvedev. With a few favorable draws, there’s a chance he could reclaim his spot in the Top 100—a possibility we all hope for.

Keep an eye out! Wawrinka will celebrate his 40th birthday on March 28.
