In her recent Instagram post, the 31-year-old tennis star beamed with joy alongside her husband, Nathan Rakitt, as they proudly held up their baby girl’s sonogram.
“We can’t wait to embark on our greatest adventure yet! Baby girl Rakitt is set to arrive in Summer 2025,” Puig shared, accompanied by a heart emoji.
Tennis enthusiasts will always remember Puig’s historic achievement for Puerto Rico at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
With an incredible journey, she stunned the world by defeating No. 4 Garbine Muguruza and went on to beat world No. 2 Angelique Kerber in the finals, securing Puerto Rico’s first-ever Olympic gold medal. The entire island erupted in celebration of her remarkable success.
Since hanging up her racquet, Puig has made numerous visits back to Puerto Rico to support recovery efforts following the devastation wrought by Hurricane Maria in September 2017. Together with Maria Sharapova, she traveled to Puerto Rico to provide vital supplies and assistance.
Beyond her philanthropic work, Puig has also participated in marathons, triathlons, and Legends events at major tournaments, all while serving as a tennis analyst on television.
